A simple service for the 1st Sunday in Advent led by Claire, one of our Elders.
David and Goliath
Sunday 10:30. service
Wednesday 10:15, midweek prayers
Our volunteers have prepared the church with the recommended Covid-secure measures, including well spaced seats, hand sanitisers and good ventilation.
Our helpers may be masked but our welcome is warm.
If you have not joined us before, we have parking, wheelchair access and a induction loop hearing aid system.
The halls and rooms are also open for hire.
Christ Church reached out to those who are vulnerable, and unable to come out during the initial lockdown. We delivered ‘wellbeing parcels’ to them and a special Corona ‘sermonette’ from our minister, Dr Alan Spence.
Read the sermonettes:
- This Is My Friend
- The Tables are Turned
- The joy of the Lord is your strength
- Peace be with you
- IN NEED OF A MAKEOVER
- He sets the prisoner free
- Love is scary
We are delighted to welcome our new minister, Rev Dr Alan Spence.
Alan was born in Zimbabwe and has served as an evangelist in the South African townships, a Scripture Union leader, a Presbyterian minister and a human rights activist. While ministering in Cape Town he was elected moderator of the denomination. In 2001 Alan and Sheila came to England with their two boys and held pastorates in London, Northampton and East Kent. He is now retired but serves at Christ Church as an interim minister.
The church is now included in the Sevenoaks list of buildings that make a valuable contribution to the distinctiveness of the District and is considered to be a ‘heritage asset’
